Rubric for Social Networking Technology Badge
Facebook
Create Page Create an “Open” group page and add a location and an about section that is relevant to the theme of your page. Please note that when you create a page for any class that you teach in the future, you will likely want to make the group “Closed” or “Secret.”
Add Cover Photo Add a cover photo that is relevant to the theme of your page.
Add Event Add at least 1 event, using your status, that is relevant to your page. There should be an appropriate title, start and end time, a relevant picture, location, and a description.
Add a Poll Ask at least one poll question using your status. The question should have a minimum of 3 answers to choose from.
Post Video Using your status update, post at least 1 appropriate and relevant video.
Pin a Post Choose a post that you want to move to the top of your page and “pin to top.” This feature allows you to save your most important posts to the top, so that they are always the first to be seen.
Build Audience Under “Build Audience,” invite 2 email or Facebook contacts to your group.
Twitter
Add Picture Add an appropriate, professional picture to your profile.
Follow Follow 5 people in your field.
Re-Tweet Find a tweet with a hashtag (#) relevant to your field and re-tweet it.
Create a Tweet Create 4 new tweets including at least 1 with a link, 1 with a video or picture, and 1 with a hashtag (e.g. Don’t forget your Emancipation assignment is due tomorrow! #History101MS).
Linked-In
Add Picture Add an appropriate, professional picture to your profile.
Follow “Follow” 3 people. “Follow” 1 company in your field. “Follow” 1 topic under “news.” Take a screenshot showing everything you are following.
Build Portfolio Add 1 experience relevant to your profession. Add 3 skills/expertise relevant to your profession.
Join Group Join 1 group in your field of expertise.
Google Plus
Upload Picture Add a professional profile picture.
Upload Cover Photo Add a cover photo that relates to your field of expertise.
Create a Circle Create 2 relevant circles (e.g., “friends,” “coworkers,” “acquaintances,” etc.) and add 1 person to each circle. Take a screenshot showing your 2 circles.
Join Community Join 3 “communities” in your field of expertise. Take a screenshot showing the communities that you have joined.
Post Publicly share a post that is relevant to your field of expertise.
Share “+1” a post that is relevant to your field of expertise. Take a screenshot showing this post.
Create Community Create a relevant community. Change the join option to “needs permission.” Publicly share the community.
Submit Work
Portfolio Create a sub-page under your website portfolio page and label it “Social Networking.” Add the URL to your Facebook group to the page. Add the URL to your Twitter feed to the page. Add the URL to your LinkedIn profile to the page. Add the URL to your Google Plus profile to the page. Upload your 3 Google Plus screenshots and your LinkedIn screenshot to the page.
Submit Send a link to this page to your instructor via Canvas. If you are not currently enrolled in a course, send your project to iptedtec@gmail.com.
